Around January, The Great Escape saw a significant decline in bookings. “We were getting pretty concerned,” Johan admits. At the same time, they were preparing to launch a brand-new escape room. To make it a success, they needed a partner with experience in launch campaigns.
“How do you turn curiosity into revenue? That was the big question. So we started looking for a new partner and that’s how we found Clickables!”
To help The Great Escape launch their new escape room and regain control over revenue, we started with the basics: strong Google and social campaigns focused on what people were actually searching for locally. From there, we built step by step.
The foundation: local visibility
On Google, the focus was on local findability.“Local visibility is crucial for us. If someone searches for ‘escape room Zwolle,’ we need to be at the top.”
At the same time, we also targeted the wider region: “Zwolle is a central spot for company outings. People will travel an hour to get here. That means we can win big at the provincial level too.”
Building buzz before launch
For the new escape room The Boobytrap, we launched a pre-sale campaign with one clear goal: create interest and generate bookings before the room even opened. “Before working with Clickables, we had never run a pre-sale campaign. They helped us launch one for our new escape room, and the results were incredible. Normally, interest builds slowly. This time, enthusiasm started weeks in advance, and it showed.“
Targeted campaigns, smart audience selection, and a successful pre-sale campaign delivered impressive results in just a few months:
✔ 62,820 people reached through social campaigns for The Boobytrap—thanks to precise targeting and messaging that resonated.
✔ 50% lower cost per click compared to their previous marketing agency: from €0.68 down to €0.33!
✔ 2,459 interested visitors landed on the pre-sale page before the official launch—people already familiar with and excited about the new escape room.
✔ 17,395 clicks from Google Ads to the website—high-intent visitors actively searching for an escape room and choosing The Great Escape. By focusing on relevant keywords, conversion potential was high.
✔ More control and confidence in marketing:
“We’re seeing much better numbers now. Plus, I have full insight into where my budget goes thanks to Clickables’ updates. That gives me confidence.”
